Introducing - Meta’s New AI Image Tools
Meta ads has just rolled out a big AI update. Here's the low-down of what they are releasing inside Ads Manager to some users this week:
1. Create full image variations inspired by your original ad creative - not just background switching
2. Text overlay capabilities directly within the tool make adding text easy
3. Copy generation feature creates variations for the ad headline, in addition to the primary text.
4. Images can also be refitted to various aspect ratios in order to accommodate posts for Reels and Facebook.
Currently you can generate a new background image in your catalogue.
Now you will be able to create a background image behind any object as long as it has a solid or transparent background, see example below.
You can now also created images INSPIRED by your initial image. See this example below.
You will be able to generate new image and text options. You can also add text overlay directly to that image.
To find the tool - go to Ads Manager and create an ad. The tool is located at the Ad level.
The good news is, you can select and control which images you use, rather than letting AI go rogue.
Further changes expected soon
1. Ability to give text prompts to better tailor the creative variations
2. The ability for the generated text copy to reflect your brand’s voice and tone, by highlighting key selling points based on your previous campaigns and text input.
But don't get too excited - Meta plans to roll out the new features globally 'by year-end' - but it is not clear who is getting it now
It's exciting to have more free tools to make better ads - but the down side is that Meta doesn't have the customer insight and product knowledge to be able to feed the AI - and we know that with AI, garbage in, garbage out. I am interested to see how much control they give to advertisers to allow them to shape what the AI makes for us.
What's your take?
